SAP’s Roadmap For Embrace

In IT, everything and everyone needs a roadmap. The one for Embrace seems spotty at best. SAP, Microsoft, AWS and Google have lost their way.

In hindsight, we should be allowed to ask: Was there ever even a verified roadmap for Embrace? The SAP cloud program Embrace was born out of emotion, dedication, enthusiasm and vision, so maybe that’s why feasibility, engineering and roadmaps have fallen by the wayside.

White papers, feasibility studies and analyst reports are nowhere to be seen. Engagement and marketing resources are sparse. The SAP community needs an economic, organizational, technological, and licensing roadmap for Embrace.

SAP’s cloud program Embrace has unique potential, but in some cases, offerings overlap. A roadmap covering IoT or AI topics, for example, or an analyst report comparing Azure, AWS and Google in different categories, could aid SAP customers’ decision between the three cloud providers.

Furthermore, Embrace’s numerous deficits have sown discord. It seems as though the partners don’t really trust each other anymore.

To their credit, the partners seem to have recognized Embrace’s faults, with an insider confirming that SAP, Microsoft, AWS and Google are currently working on Embrace 2.0. Hopefully, they don’t forget to create and publish the necessary roadmaps, white papers and success stories this time around.
