In a recent blog post, Sven Denecken, Senior Vice President of SAP S/4 Hana Cloud Product Management, describes the need for the capabilities of the new release of S/4 Hana Cloud as follows: “The pressure to support modern business needs increases every single day. Companies must keep up in order to remain profitable. The SAP S/4 Hana Cloud release enables companies to be more responsive and better equipped to operate in today’s complex, rapidly shifting world.”
Warehouse and transportation
The new release aims to help companies become intelligent enterprises, especially within the manufacturing and professional services industries. This time, the focus of S/4 Hana Cloud is therefore on warehouse and transportation capabilities.
In aforementioned blog post, Sven Denecken tells his readers what they can gain from the November release in warehouse management: “With S/4 Hana Cloud, the manufacturer can gain complete visibility into an important piece of their supply chain. This transparency – mixed with automation along a fully-connected supply chain – results in better supply and demand matching, increased order fulfillment and ultimately, higher profit.”
With the November release, SAP promises better insight into complex operations and greater connectedness, meaning that companies can react to market changes more quickly based on insights gained through the integration of S/4 Hana Cloud.
Resource management
What is more, S/4 Hana Cloud also brings new resource management capabilities to the table. Sven Denecken explains: “With resource management built into S/4 Hana Cloud, companies can now consider previous project experience when creating a staffing plan. Using a combination of maintained skills and past experience, the firm can identify resources that have the experience necessary, as well as the availability, to take on projects.”
Following the announcement of a partner innovation program at SAP TechEd in Barcelona this year, partners in priority industries can also build and go to market with new applications that augment the functionalities of the new release of S/4 Hana Cloud.
