Datavard and IBM Partner to Drive SAP S/4Hana Migrations

SAP S/4Hana is the SAP’s next big thing – it is next generation business suite offering unmatched speed, high performance and compelling new features. However, transition to S/4Hana is not a simple system upgrade. It is more like a demanding implementation project, with all the related issues and challenges.

To support SAP customers on their journey to SAP S/4Hana, Datavard has formed a partnership with IBM to drive faster, risk-free migrations. Under the agreement, IBM and Datavard will be working together to help SAP customers in the ASEAN region to complete risk-free migrations. SAP has set 2025 as the date it will no longer support its Business Suite ERP system, so the clock is ticking.

By working with Datavard, IBM and its customers will be able to take advantage of Datavard’s tool-based approach and complete S/4Hana transitions seamlessly with near-zero downtime. Datavard has developed a unique way of migrating data from our over 20 years of experience and more than 1,500 SAP customer engagements. In most cases, we can complete a full migration in a single weekend with minimal downtime.

S/4Hana is fast becoming the core platform for SAP customers, particularly those pursuing digital transformation. All current and planned  S/4Hana technologies require Hana, and migrating is the only way to truly unlock their potential.

High speed and low risk

However, many SAP customers are taking a “wait and see” approach toward migration due to the complexities involved and concerns about the impact of downtime as productive systems are migrated to the new platform.

Initially, the partnership with IBM will be focused on supporting companies in the ASEAN region and will include joint market development programs and activities. In addition, Datavard’s tools and expertise will continue to be available to IBM and SAP customers on a global basis.

For most companies, the transition represents a complex implementation project that requires a dedicated team for re-assessing the system, re-modeling business processes, verifying code and running test cycles.

Datavard’s tool-based approach speeds the migration process, extending from early readiness assessment and sizing through to testing and execution. This approach minimizes the need for business involvement in the migration process and allows the business to focus on innovation and unlocking the full potential of S/4Hana.
