As a smaller ERP version, Business One is excellently suited to SMEs, start-ups and subsidiaries. Implementation time is far shorter, and from sales, customer relationship management, inventory control, all the way to finances and the operating business, all operational core functions are immediately ready for use.
Dubai experienced SAP specialists
Gedore, manufacturer of premium tools headquartered in Remscheid with production and distribution facilities worldwide, also decided at the end of 2016 to opt for SAP Business One.
The company selected the existing sales company, Gedore Middle East (GME) in Dubai, for the pilot project. They relied on SAP Gold Partner, Uniorg, for implementation.
Optimised group reporting
After a three-month project period and a two-week go-live phase, Business One has now recently begun operating successfully at Gedore. All financial, logistical and service processes of the foreign sales company are now integrated in the group processes, up-to-date key data from Gedore Middle East are retrievable at any time.
More transparent processes and improved reporting tools ensure group reporting is simplified to a significant extent. Thanks to the integrated Business One and its associated optimized data exchange, staff benefit from extensively automated processes, for example in terms of stock and automated order transmission.
New business processes needed
“When we began to collaborate, there was neither an integrated company software nor standardized sales business processes in Dubai”, recalls Uniorg project lead Markus Mevenkamp.”
He adds, “Therefore we first of all had to develop solid and efficient processes together with Gedore which could be implemented with Business One.”
“For us it was a thoroughly exciting, collegial and above all extremely precise project that completely fulfilled our expectations and goals on every level”, adds Gedore project leader Oliver Pitscher.
Pritscher also said, “Uniorg has impressed us with their know-how in their execution of international SAP projects – particularly here in the implementation of SAP Business One in the existing group structure.”
He conludes, “One of the templates developed in the Dubai project will in future serve as a model for reusable processes in another group rollout that is already planned for the next sales companies.”
