Texen Transforms Supply Chain With S/4 And SAP EWM

The luxury and beauty packaging specialist Texen wanted an ERP system to consolidate the IT environments of its various subsidiaries. They found it in S/4 Hana.

Texen is a company of the French group PSB Industries specialized in the luxury and beauty packaging sector. Its customers include some of the biggest names in the sector: LVMH, L’Oréal, Chanel, and many more. Texen employs nearly 1,500 people at 10 industrial sites located in Europe, Asia, and the United States. The company’s external growth strategy has resulted in a patchwork of IT solutions. No ERP was in place and each site had its own management solution. The luxury and beauty division of PSB Industries had to find an answer to this problem. In order to respond to this problem, the company wanted to acquire a standard ERP system that would be common to all sites and capable of meeting its requirements as well as those of its customers. SAP S/4 Hana was the best fit for them.

PSB industries launched its S/4 project in early 2018. While the ERP was being implemented, the company’s processes were reviewed. Once this model was successfully tested, a deployment kit was built. The PSB Industries and TeamWork teams are now working on the deployment at Texen’s French sites, one every four months.

It is above all the supply chain that is supposed to be optimized. S/4 Hana allows to have a global and consolidated view of the supply chain. The new system has also allowed the company to rethink processes and redefine functions and interactions. Finally, information is fed back from the production sites to the ERP. This makes it possible to have real-time progress reports and to immediately identify any problems, such as an inventory alert.
