Switching to Hana and S/4 takes courage. The conversion comprises all levels of an ERP system. Of course SAP had to extend the S/4 Hana deadline from 2025 to 2027/2030 – a technical migration would have been no problem for IT departments, but Conversion and Rise aim to transform business processes, which makes them the responsibility of C-level management.
Never before has an SAP release change been such a holistic challenge. Questions range from business and organization to technology and licensing. SAP tries to support customers with Run, Move, Conversion, and now RISE, but even though CEO Christian Klein touted RISE as a “One Face to the Customer” offering, the SAP community will only succeed if they have trusted partners by their side.
Customers and partners are as much a part of SAP’s success as the ERP company itself. CIOs and IT managers need the expertise and support of SAP partners to successfully complete their S/4 transformations. RISE will not thrive without including partners from the get-go.
