Does S/4 Hana’s value lie in the cloud? Cloud subscriptions add value for SAP after a license conversion, see FUE (Full Use Equivalent). A lot of customers want to stay on-prem, as this survey by German-speaking SAP user group (DSAG) proves.
Value lies in new S/4 algorithms and data structures. Whichever approach (greenfield, brownfield, bluefield, allfield) and whichever infrastructure SAP customers prefer, any value that S/4 Hana adds stems from a renewed as well as intensive focus on organizational structure, process optimization, and an ERP system to match new transformation ambitions.
S/4 conversion has received a lot of criticism because it costs almost as much as a new ERP implementation. General renovation and maintenance of a house can sometimes cost just as much as building something new. The value of general renovation lies in the same floor plan, trusted partners, and continuity. Building something new always opens up new challenges – and new opportunities.
S/4 Hana’s value lies in an ERP revolution for algorithms and data structures while preserving existing advantages like customer relationships, trust, and market success. Customers are tasked with preparing a release change that must be an IT revolution and yet not corrupt existing values. From a conceptual point of view, a revolution; from an operational point of view, an evolution.
Hoping to hear more about this stuff. Very effective and informative.
