NetApp Announces Collaboration With Equinix And Alibaba Cloud

NetApp announced its collaboration with Equinix and Alibaba Cloud through Indonet, their partner in Indonesia to address demands and challenges from enterprise customers to simplify and automate IT Infrastructure or build a true modern cloud from the ground up.

The collaboration connects NetApp Private Storage (NPS) for Cloud, Alibaba Cloud and Platform Equinix. This will allow businesses in Indonesia to get the freedom and flexibility to run their application or workload. They will furthermore gain full control of their data across the multicloud platform.

It will also help them address data management challenges such as secure network, latency, performance and data sovereignty compliance; as stated in the Government Regulations Number 82 (GR82) that the electronic system and transaction implementation for public services are required to host their data in Indonesia.

IDC has estimated that by 2020, 30% of Indonesia’s enterprises will use multiple cloud services and platforms. Thus, the challenges for enterprises and organizations are to adopt multicloud strategies to maximized cloud computing capabilities while at the same time managing their own assets. With the diverse cloud platform, the needs to be able to manage the data will be one of the keys.

“NetApp believes that adopting Hybrid Cloud can be a solid first step for businesses to transform digitally. For that reason, we bring NetApp Private Storage (NPS) for Cloud by collaborating with Equinix and Alibaba Cloud as our commitment to accommodate the demands for business in Indonesia to turn to cloud while helping them to address their business challenges, all while complying with the applicable regulations in Indonesia,” said Ana Sopia, Country Manager, NetApp Indonesia.

NetApp, Equinix and Alibaba Cloud provide flexibility

NPS for Cloud with Equinix and Alibaba Cloud provides flexibility and ease for IT to meet the ever-changing business needs. These include answering the market demands strategically; creating new products which require enterprises and organizations to manage their data anywhere and anytime; and also enabling customers to compete in the digital era by efficiently controlling their data.

NPS for Cloud combines the resilient, on-demand cloud connectivity from Platform Equinix and the support from Alibaba Cloud. It is therefore the perfect investment for early cloud adopters in Indonesia.

“With two local datacenters in the Indonesian market, we commit to serving our customers with reliable, secure and trusted cloud products and services. The collaboration on constructing a hybrid cloud environment with our infrastructure is also a great testimony to our commitment. We will continue to collaborate with our local partners to serve the digital transformation needs of Indonesian businesses,” said Leon Chen, Country Manager of Alibaba Cloud Indonesia.

NPS for Cloud is an agile, multi-cloud solution that lets customers balance a public cloud and private resources to optimize business outcomes.

Together with Equinix and Alibaba Cloud through Indonet, NPS for Cloud allows organizations to adjust cloud resources on demand; dynamically optimize both operational and capital expenses; easily provide access to data in private resources and the public cloud; improve cost efficiencies for a variety of performance workloads; maintain complete data control, compliance and mobility; and implement a disaster recovery strategy that achieves substantial cost savings.
