Suse And Alibaba Cloud Join Forces

Suse and Alibaba Cloud are partnering to meet the global demand for cloud-based business-critical applications. Consequently, Alibaba Cloud joins the Suse Cloud Service Provider program, and Suse Linux Enterprise Server for SAP Applications is now available on Alibaba Cloud Marketplace for customers worldwide.

Suse and Alibaba Cloud, the cloud computing arm of Alibaba, are expanding their global strategic partnership in public cloud services. This is their response to growing customer demand for cost-effective and flexible SAP workloads on public cloud.

“Modern SAP systems running critical workloads need to meet the highest standards of availability for their SAP services running in customer data centers or on public cloud environments,” said Naji Almahmoud, Suse vice president of Global Alliances. “We are excited about our partnership with Alibaba, as it offers customers agility, pay-as-you-go capabilities and system availability.”

Almahmoud adds, “Suse and partners, such as Alibaba Cloud, enable customers to manage complexity and reduce cost. Furthermore, we deliver the business-critical services that power our own digital transformation. Suse works with customers’ preferred partners and vendors in this way to support innovation as well as optimization of their current infrastructure as they evolve their systems to meet business needs.”

Suse, Alibaba, and SAP

Organizations can now run mission-critical applications on Suse Linux Enterprise Server for SAP Applications in the flexible Alibaba Cloud services.

Together, Suse and Alibaba make it easier for customers to deploy SAP workloads on the Alibaba Cloud. Customers can deploy SAP as a Service within a few clicks. Moreover, they can fully deploy the services often in less than 30 minutes.

Alibaba Cloud and Suse also jointly developed and validated a best practice to automate Hana System Replication failover. This is powered by Suse Linux Enterprise High Availability technology. Suse is also planning additional products for the Alibaba Cloud Marketplace in the near future.
