Basis Technologies showcased their next generation DevOps and test automation for SAP systems at SAP TechEd 2018 in Las Vegas.
This event offered the first live public demonstration of Testimony 2.0, the latest version of Basis Technologies’ new test automation software. The launch of Testimony in 2017 marked the introduction of Robotic Test Automation (RTA), a revolutionary technology that transforms the way firms think about regression testing of SAP software.
Now, Testimony 2.0 gives users a deeper level of insight that further accelerates defect remediation for even greater time savings, cost reduction and risk mitigation.
Testimony’s server-side RTA engine uses bots to deliver a comprehensive level of SAP regression test coverage at high speed without the need for script creation or maintenance. Therefore, it offers a high level of visibility into the impact of change.
Testimony 2.0 and RTA
Testimony 2.0 includes new features, developed in response to user feedback. They aid in quick and efficient interpretation of this extensive data set. Test teams now have more ways to rapidly analyze the causes of failure. Addtionally, they are better equipped than ever to make informed assessments of the true business risk when delivering change in SAP systems.
“Robotic Test Automation is already revolutionizing testing in the world of SAP by eliminating costly traditional methods of regression testing,” said Basis Technologies CEO, Martin Metcalf. “Testimony 2.0 represents a significant enhancement to our automation platform for DevOps and testing. Consequently, it allows our customers to be more competitive in a dynamic global market.”
Testimony 2.0 was shown alongside ActiveControl, Basis Technologies’ change automation solution. Many global companies have already adopted it. ActiveControl provides the flexibility needed to deliver high quality SAP change on demand, without risk of business disruption. Furthermore, it enables integration of SAP application delivery into wider non-SAP agile and CI/CD processes.
Together, ActiveControl and Testimony form a comprehensive automation platform for SAP change. Consequently, it enables firms to ‘shift left’ and perform full regression testing for every release. The ability to continuously test and deploy high quality changes with fewer resources gives companies the business agility they need to stay competitive and grow.
